Re: [ATM] Latest series 8 Updated pictures of 8"f6 mirror............
Morning All,
After doing 2 14 minute sessions tot 1/3 stroke, switching to mot
for 1 session and then back to a final tot session I have taken some pics
after letting the mirror stabilise overnight. Each session was around 14
minutes in length. Air temp around 23 celcius. Stroke times back and for
were around 3 seconds. Very thin cerium....Almost clear....Gugolz 64 sat in
the tin for three years before using now. Perhaps some volatiles evaporated
and it's gone slightly harder? The picture is improving slightly now with a
bit of thickening in the lines still needing to be taken care of. Another
few laps with 1/3rd coc should fix it we think. I'll look into whats
required for a pitch hardness tester.
Not bad. My 6" was in nearly identical shape a few months ago, things
that helped me get to a perfect sphere,
Working MOT
Micro Faceting
Pressing longer/more weight or hot pressing
Paying CLOSE attention to make sure my stroke length was coming back as far
as it was going forward (1" and 1" in my case)
That last point helped the most
Food for thought,
Mitch
