[ATM] Alan Adler's Flex Mirror specs
Hi,
I'm about to grind my first mirror and have chosen Alan Adler's flex mirror
design. I feel an 8" F6 is a good balance between my abilities and
observing goals.
However, when looking through my back-issues of S&T magazine and Googling on
the web, several critical specifications have been reported differently.
Typos, I suppose; however for all S&T's trivial ombudsman entries about this
NGC number or that, these critical figures have never been corrected? (!!!)
Blank Thickness: 0.65" or 0.75"? (very important! -- determines the
tensioning spring used)
Blank Diameter: I'm guessing 8.25"? (I'm trying to order from Newport
Glass)
f/ratio: f6 or f6.1?
3/8" or 1/2" thick Puller Sponge?
Granted, I don't need to have an exact copy of Alan's scope, but some of
these descrepancies could mean the difference between success and failure.
Thanks,
-- Andre
