The grit won't be usable for smaller sizes unless you regrad it.
HOWEVER, you will probably find that you still have about 10lb of
80 grit in there  if you goldpan it for the coarse grits.
I normally recycle the coarse grit and have found anywhere from
10% to 60% of the grit doesn't get used, depending upon the
grinder and how much grit he puts on the tool.
What is making it nicer at my grinding class is that we're
starting to use those 4" diamond cutting disks for glass grinding
and that does a nice job of making a hole without fuss.
