Re: [ATM] recycling grit
Jeff,

No data from my part but a single comment.
Reading all that warnings on required cleanliness
and hygiene while changing grits in order to avoid
scratches, I seriously doubt that really all your
grit is broken down to 220 or 350. By "all" I mean
to the last grain. If not, what will happen when this
grain shows its ugly face when you think you are
working at 220 level.
I will worry about it. And what with all this glass
that is contained within used grit?
But being inquisitive as I am, I will do the following
experiment. Take a piece of plate glass, grind it
with genuine 220 or 350 than take another piece of
the plate glass and grind it with used 60. Observe
the difference with magnifying glass. If the glass ground with
used 60 shows pits and scratches not present in
the glass ground with generic 220 or 350 then
my worries are well founded. But I am pessimistic
person and perhaps in this case overpessimistic.
Regards and season greetings.
Vladimir.
