I have noticed on older tools that they don't seem to match the
surface of the glass very well.  I think that what is happening
is either the tool finishes curing and thus shrinks, causing the
tool to be stressed to a more positive curvature as the tile
soesn't move any or that the water expands the dental stone a
little bit so when the tool gets dry, the shape changes over the
amount of water inside the tool.  I'm more thinking towards the
first.
Since most people cast and use the tool in a few days, with the
fine grinding all happening usually in a day or two most of us
haven't seen this problem with tile tools.
