In my experience, ferric chloride won't remove a coating with overcoating 
(it can't get at the aluminum).  Since you're going to refigure, ~10 min on 
a pitch lap will get rid of most of the coating (the low zones might still 
have some, but you will probably attack them later in the figuring process).
