Lawrence,

Those would be my choices.  The reasoning is that both
discuss the general principles behind the telescope
design, perhaps Texereau goes into more detail.  But,
the Howard book is pretty good about describing tools
and necessities in the shop, and he puts in more basic
terms what Texereau writes about on a higher technical
level.  So, you have either the theory behind what
you're trying to do or a more practical description. 
Just my thoughts, and I own and use both.
