For me, a center dot allows me to precisely align the secondary to the 
primary.  After that, I can use star testing to do the primary 
alignment.  (I usually use a laser to get it close, and then tweak it 
later at the eyepiece).

Jason, a center dot is easy - just temporarily stick on a hole 
reinforcer in the center to get the secondary aligned.  You can just 
peel it off when you're done, and then go back to figuring.
