You didn't mention anything about glass ---

My choices for "only two" would be
"Build Your Own Telescope" by Richard Berry --- a bit dated, but the
concepts are valid.
"The Dobsonian Telescope" by David Kreige and Richard Berry --- the bible
for truss tube scopes.  (David Kreige is "Mr Obsession" the creator of what
most of us attempt to replicate!)

Now it will be interesting to see what some of the others suggest!
