[ATM] The 15.5 Ultra Thin

There is just something almost sexy about a piece of glass that has come
through 500 grit. The suface is so smooth, almost like a velvet. Yeah,
yeah I know, this man has been around his glass too long. Well after a
forced exile of 60 days it is nice to do some work again.

I have not quite 40 minutes at 500 grit. Three longish wets. The surface
is even and I see no deep pits. But before going on to 12 micron I am
going to wait and check it once more with rested eyes in the light of day.
That is one thing I like about slumped projects, they finish out so
smoothly. I can just almost read 10 point fonts through the glass.

I should be able to begin polishing this week. Still thinking about the
lap design if anyone wants to throw their ideas in. Right now I am
leaning towards a stacked wood surface with pitch squares applied
individually, as opposed to pouring a lap and faceting.

On a side note, I scored three pieces of 1/4 inch plate. Tops from an old
coffee table, they are 22 inches and 28 inches respectivly. Now the kiln
becomes a problem. AND, there is a microwave turntable project yet. That
will be the first slumped Pyrex mirror for me.
