It would help me to see a drawing, to prevent any misunderstanding or
confusion.  If nothing else, email me a drawing and I'll see what advice I
can offer.

Probably not, unless you have the moon or streetlights shining on the front
lens.  Think of a camera lens...stray rays shine on it all the time while
you take photos...and unless a very bright source (that is not in the field
of view of the film frame) is shining on it...you don't complain about the
resulting image quality.
