True. One solution is to make the cut a with rounded corners and smooth
contours. A way to easily make deep cuts in with rounded corners is to use a
ball end mill or slitting saw with a rounded profile. Some hack saws are
made with a round profile wire blade. This will leave a rounded bottom and
less stress concentration.  Chemical milling or vibratory deburring can also
help to relieve stress concentration.
