The difference between a 1/4 wave surface and a 1/10th wave surface can be
as little as 5 strokes on the mirror so you need to slowly sneak up on that
elusive parabola.
Remember that it is where you rub that the glass is taken away. If you have
a high center, you need to work that area most and that is done with the
edge of the lap rubbing across the central area. Do be careful as work like
this can quickly get away from you and you'll need to go back to the
parabola again.
