For my 333 mm F=1450 with 60 mm obstruction, I got:
9+3 equal loads 1.68 nm
9+3 unequal 0.86 nm (load on the inner points appr 0.5 of outer)
8+4 equal loads 1.42 nm
8+4 unequal 1.0 nm
12+0 1.89 nm
6+0 2.64 nm
So with *optimized* loads, 9+3 seems the slightly better (at least in
this example). But we're talking very small differences indeed.
