yep its a real live Astroscan, I mail ordered it direct from Edmund a 
few weeks ago after they dropped the price, I decided the time was ripe 
to try one of these out.

The adertisements and the literature that come with it say its 1/8 wave 
parabolic, but mine sure is NOT.

I don't want to send it back, I like the idea of the astroscan-Houghton, 
a wide field fast scope with no coma and flat field. With a Nagler I 
should be able to get razor sharp views over the whole field. (I know, 
using a Nagler on an Astroscan sounds weird!)
