ATM The Season and Sentiment

I just wanted to take a moment to write a few words of thanks to the many
list members and its moderators.  Over the years, I have found myself more
and more looking forward to opening the ATM list mail and to reading about
a myriad of ideas, new and old.

To the long time members,  I have come to recognizes so many of you just by
your concise expression of knowledge.  I have and will continue to
appreciate all you have to write.  To the new names on the list.  Thankyou
for joining.  Some of you are new to telescope making, others of you are
not.  All of you bring a unique life experience which sets you apart from
everyone else.  I look forward to reading more from each of you.

This forum, at times, has been accused of being cantankerous.  We are.  I
often marvel at how a stated opinion will inspire no retort, but a matter
of fact will be challenged for days.  I have learned to appreciate this
factiousness as well.

With us nearing the end of the first year of the new millennium, I want to
thank the list for being what it is.  I wish each of you success playing
the hand you were dealt.  And I hope we all can learn to recognize and
accept each other for who we are.
