Paul,

It may be that your note was intended only to foster civil behavior.  If
so, please forgive me for being presumptuous.

If you have a specific question or would like to share an idea, but are
reluctant to post to the list, for whatever reason, I know I and I'm sure
many other listies would be glad to hear from you off list.  Perhaps you've
been impressed with one particular list member's grace, eloquence,
intellect or helpful manner.  I would encourage you, and anyone else, to
write to that individual in a private communication.

There is such a wide range of understanding and expertise represented on
this list that it can be hard to frame an answer suitable for all.  It is
however, just this panorama of knowledge, and character, that makes THE
list so wonderful.
