The old 16" Celestron S-C had a primary *similar* to this, including the
8 ribs. These were *spherical* with 80% of the correction in
the correcting plate, 20% in the Cass secondary, f11 final ratio.

If not, most likely part of a military low light or IR imaging
system...

If it's a really good sphere, it might serve to test Cass secondaries
with the Hindle test.
