The marks and thier depth are dependant upon the method used to generate the
curve.  Using a long arm with a spinning stone on the end will produce marks
of the motions of the wheel across the glass with the depth of those marks
determined by the rigidity of the length of the rod and wheel drive.  This
isn't as bad as it sounds as you are just trying to get 95% of the glass out
of the way before you start doing the laborious handwork.  The glass will
get quite concentric and spherical in short order.  The biggest thing that I
would worry about is how much the grinder moves in radius and how even the
stone is when it cuts.
