    Here's what I'd do, using a full sized lap.  Go back to c/c  1/3 strokes to
help your edge, then lengthen the strokes (still mostly c/c) to make your oblate
mirror (another way of looking at that large, broad central hill) more
spherical.  Once you have a spherical mirror with a good edge, then go to W
strokes to parabolize.  Expect many iterations until you get acceptable
results.  It's a great education.  BTW, have you read Texereau?  It is the
