Don't know a Dennis Ritz.  Do you know where he is?  The only big telescope
project that I know of is the Project 70 up in the Bay area and they are
figuring the mirror as best that they have put on thier website.
As to snow, it snows above 4,000ft. every year with snow that stays for a
good long time.  Above 6,000ft, the snow usually stays all winter.  I don't
know if you have ever been to RTMC but it's snowed there on occasion and the
snow stayed on the ground.  '97 was a year when Fri. and Sat. had a
snowstorm come through dropping about 2" of snow and Sun. had weather warm
enough to sit outside in shirtsleaves at dusk.  I have also been snowed on
leaving on Mon.  Please remember that this is Memorial Day weekend when the
Conference happens!
