Hi stan,

It looks like my controller uses a trigger circuit instead of a Variac, but 
as far as I can tell it looks like it will do the DC conversion. The one 
thing that caught my attention in the manual was it said "do not operate with 
the field disconnected." I assume this could be a problem if the motor wasn't 
a PM, is this a correct assumption? All other specs. are right for my motor.
