If I were to make such a scope, I'd be working with the LaF and SF flints
that are way up about 1.7 or higher for ND to get the curves down to usable
levels and also use only glasses that have a corrosion resistance of the
highest level.  I'd probably also be making aspheric surfaces to get the FOV
up to higher levels.
