ATM 16" ~f/7 planetary dobsonian
Hello All:
Years ago I made a 16" mirror from porthole glass from currently out of
business Optica b/c. The focal length is 115" as I was afraid to grind
it deeper thus winding up with an even thinner mirror blank.
Now I am thinking of making a planetary "goto" Dobsonian out of it, sort
of a trial run for the mount construction of the 40" f/3.0.
Trouble is in Kriege's and Berry's book no construction details are
given for such a dobsonian.
Anyone have suggestions on what the dimensions for the rocker, altitude
bearings, mirror box should be as well as thickness of the baltic birch
plywood?
Thanks in advance
