That would be cool. I have often thought about what it would take to 
cancel out the particular defects in my own eyes, as the astigmatisms 
(astigmatisa?) that I have in each are different and each one is 
certainly not a simple, symmetric astigmatism, as I'm sure is the 
case for most people.

Last time I had an eye exam, using both eyes, I could see 20/10 (as 
do I believe 5% of  the population), but I know that my eyesight has 
deteriorated as I've aged. I have thought of making an optical train 
that would fix the astigmatism best for myself, but it would probably 
take several elements...

One annoying thing about this hobby is that we end up with eyes that 
are well trained enough to document the degradation of our own vision!

I guess that's why we use telescopes in the first place, to help our 
eyes see what we couldn't otherwise ;)
