Hi I used Bitumen for all of my mirrors, it is similar to pitch but is a coal/oil derivative rather than a wood derivative. It is more dense that pitch. I used rosin to thicken it with. It worked perfectly for my mirrors and it is very easy and cheap to get hold of. Just phone your local road asphalting company and see where they get it from! Clear skies Brent
