ATM 8in project report

The 8in has gotten a bit closer to being useable. The Dob mount is
here and is about 3/4th put together. I've figured out how I'm going
make it easy for the sliders to work without a whole lot of work.

At the local hardware store, I found they have minwax wood stain WITH
polyuathain(can't spell it at all). But this way I can coat the whole
mount and once dry/cured, it'll be nice and smooth and look good too.

Then I'll get the sliders for the base and the nailed ones for the
barrings area. Once it's cured, I'm going to use Fluorescent Red model
paint to fill in the 'Sidewalk Astronomer' that's on the base side.

As I HAvE worked with that poly stuff before on hardwood floors, I
know just how to use it. Figure about 2 full weeks for it to be
coated.

Can't work on the mirror cell at all, been up in the 90 to 100+ range,
last night coolest was 80F. So while the rest of it gets done, it'll
be another 2 to 3 months before it's cool enough to work on the cell
again. Just for the heck of it, I used the silcon glue yesterday on
two pices of broken window glass, it flowed like water almost and was
hard in 30mins. This was at 10PM last night. Can you say 'Warm'
weather?
