ATM 12.5" binocular telescope

I'm pleased to report that I completed my project and
celebrated first light last night, August 20. It was worth
the effort!

I only looked at the moon, Vega, Epsilon Lyra and the Ring
nebula. All the advocates of big binoculars have got it
right: nothing is more satisfying than the views they
provide.

The detail on the terminator exceeded what I had expected.
Some happy combination of good optics, good seeing, and two
eyes was at work. The Ring nebula seemed brighter, in spite
of the nearby quarter-plus moon. Star images were sharp.

I'll update my Web site in a month or so with a complete
description of the binocular telescope.
