Yeah, I made a "school scope" for School Without Walls High School here in DC.

An 8" f/6 if I remember correctly, mirror from Company 7 in Maryland. But then
they fired the astronomy teacher...

So I don't think it got used much. Not sure where it is now.

I definitely agree that a Telrad-type finder is the way to go for newbies, and
very low-power eyepieces with long eye-relief.
