Ahh, you want a design that is easy for the novice to construct.
In that case, the internet is maybe not the best place to look if that is
going to be your sole source of information.... There is alot of good
information on the net.... unfortunately there is also quite a bit of
misleading information as well....Probably your best bet is to build a scope
from a tried and tested design like the one detailed in Kriege & Berry's
excellent book "The Dobsonian Telescope" (Willman Bell)..... It is by no
means cutting edge backyard technology, but it'll teach you some very sound
mechanical design principles..It will be <i>your</i> ATM bible for a few
years at least. And yes, the scopes in there are well within the reach of
all but the most mentally & physically flacid individuals... You'll have no
trouble at all.
