I too saw the transit. Astronomy's chart showed it to indeed be Ganymede
It was a stroke of luck that I was sharing views (with my 8"f/6) with my
new neighbor across the street and we got around to Jupiter for the grand
finale. What a treat and what a beautiful view at 240x! I tried going to
400x but the seeing was too bad for it. We watched it for a good 45
minutes.
