Dave Kriege of Obsession telescope fame recommended "Riptide" a ripstop
nylon fabric for use as Light Shrouds. Experience suggests that Riptide may
shrink when exposed to direct sunlight or heating situations, so experiment
with proper sizing before settling on a final design. Riptide is available
at many fabric stores such as JoAnn Fabrics.

Additionally, take a look at his article "Low-Tech R&D and Off-the-Shelf
Parts for Super-Big Telescopes" in Telescope Making Magazine, Volume 44,
page 44. The article offers additional insights which might be applicable
for your projects.
