Hi:
You better believe its a bit much for something you can put together
for less than $25. Check out the following URL for info on anodizing

just look under non-ferrous metal finishes.
For small pieces I use "Aluminum Black" metal touchup by Birchwood-
Casey sold by Fargo Enterprizes. Saves setting up for anodizing.
