Hi:
You only have to paint the mirror cell for aethestic purposes or weather
protection, the diagonal holder and spider should be painted with flat
black paint to reduce refections, try to have no shiney places in the
OTA if possible. Also its a good idea to paint an square or circular
area about 10 to 15cm around the eyepiece holder on the outside of the
OTA with flat black paint to keep light from reflecting into your
eye when observing.
