ATM lens separation

How can I separate a 4 in.,30in. f.l.,apo lens that needs to be re-cemented?
I tried the acetone soaking routine with no results.  Looks like something
other than Canadian Balsam. Just finished trying some liquid paint stripper
for 24hrs and that shows a little of the cement being eaten away approx one
quarter in. from the edge.  This stuff contains acetone, toluol, methanol,
and methylene chloride. ( great food additives!)  Looks like this has
started to destroy the coating, too. Hopefully not the glass.

So, where to from here?  Have I screwed up royally? Any info would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks........Bill
