ATM 18-point cell design

I'm interested in building an 18-point cell for a mirror, but my small
library of old ATM books doesn't cover the subject. A search of the ATM
archives turned up a number of good messages, but I still don't really
understand the design particulars (esp. the point spacing and
grouping/articulation of points). Is there a book in print that deals with
this? Better yet, does anyone know of on-line information on the topic?
