Ts-ts-ts professor, professor ! I would have expected better. But
I know that those virgins have probably taken your mind elsewhere ...
Temperature and HEAT are different entities. Although your insulation
has (after say some time) reached temperature of your hands, as soon as
you touch colder glass it will form a steep gradient between inside
and outside layer, and prevent (or significantly slow down) heat flow
from your hands to the glass. (this is insulation by definition, BTW)
The amount of heat that outside layer of insulation has released to the
glass is miniscule and has no effect.
Now, I don't envy you on eating the bats, but those virgins sound
interesting ...
