ATM atm: newtonian tube extension and radiating spiders

Hi Bratislav, hi Tom Cathey,

just a thought as Tom asked about potential benefits of a tube
extension with newtonians other than straylight suppression:

With a tube extension, any spider should come closer to its
radiative equilibrium as the apparent solid angle of the open sky
is becoming smaller. It might be worth studying whether the apparent
advantage of wires over vanes diminishes for extended tubes. ?!?

Cheers, Klaus-Peter
