ATM 2nd Law of Thermodynamics (was: Spider Design)

Thanks to all those who gave me a lesson on radiative cooling -- whilst
it's embarrassing to have publicly gaffed (and done so with such
conviction), I'm glad to have a misconception, under which I have
laboured for decades, well and truly corrected.
