Yea, that's typical ... I mean, most large scopes I've looked thru
use humongous 80 or 100 times on Jupiter ... my friend never uses
less than 300 on planets. If I can't use more than 200, I call it
quits as far as planetary observation is concerned. This is with 8"
class instruments. Try 500 times next time with 24". It won't be
as painful (_if_ the mirror was good ;-)
