NO !!! My comments on refractors/reflectors were for EQUAL apertures
only (and that was the way you put the question in the first place).

Now if you find a way to use off axis mask and retain the full original
aperture, that's another issue !  ;-)

Central obstruction must be one of the most overrated issues in amateur
atronomy. Or is it the most convenient excuse for crappy optics ?...
