Two or three years ago a gentleman, Dr ---------- From the Lunar and
Planetary Lab at the U of Az used the 60" on Palomar for the observation of
Beta Pictoris. He used a Lyot Coronagraph set up to mask out all of the
effect of the immediate area around Beta Pic and the edge aperture
diffraction and spider diffraction. He discovered an accretion nebula around
that star that was lost in the effects of all of those sources. They are not
that difficult to make.
