ATM Rough grinding on tiled tool!!
First... Thanx to all who have answered my previos questions :)
Last night, and continued to day, I started grinding my 8" F/8 mirror. I
have the W-B kit and have built a tiled tool (on plywood, seeled and
embeded whith resin). After grinding aprox. for 4 hours and half of the
no.60 grit is gone, I only have about 0,5 mm hole (sagitta is called?).
Is this normal to use so much grit?
And how much water should I use. I feel as I am doing something wrong.
Oh yeah.. I am gringing on a grinding machine by hand on the coars grit
as recomended by Tom. It turnes about 12-13 rpm (is that to much?).
How much presure should I apply??
A good, detailed, description on grinding on tiled tools (as it is not
mentioned in the books I have, ATM part 1-3, 1972 printing), would be
greatly, greatly appreciated.
Thanx,
