I know there are 1" and 2" ceramic tiles available, and I'm pretty sure I've seen hexagons of about that size, too. Sorry, I don't remember the manufacturer, but I can try to find them if you'd like. I ran into this while looking for new tile for our bathroom. I find it hard to believe that you can get them in the US but not the UK.
