Bernhard Schmidt's original article in German is referenced, and an abriged translation can be found in Ingalls' ATM III, along with other interesting Schmidt stuff, ie math for figuring corrections, ...however I've not run into the specifics your looking at in the reading I've done...I think we're somewhat on our own.

p.s. The original article translation by N.U. Mayall was published by the Astronomy Society of the Pacific in 1946. I'm going over to the Cal Berkeley Asto Library again week after next, and its on my list of more readings to do on compound scope design.
