Piano tuning - this is getting a bit off subject, but since it pertains
to dimensional stability of wood, I thought I would clarify briefly since
I am an (ex) classical musician who played for 12+ years in an orchestra:
1. pianos are under a great deal of strain because of the strings' tensions
2. pianos are customarily tuned for home use twice a year based on
seasonal changes
3. concert grands are customarily retuned for the soloist's ear, that is,
a Horowitz tuning would be different from a Van Cliburn tuning.
4. pianos do not visibly warp.
