I've got several books on Telescope making from Texeraux/Berry/Howard. They're all good book in their own way but the book I keep coming back to, because, amoungst other things, for it's sheer simplicitity and understandability, is the book by N. E. Howard 'The Standard Handbook for Telescope Making' (that's what it's called in America, over here in Europe it appeared under the name 'How to make a Telescope'). Highly recommended.

(No doubt others will have their own favorites too !)
