What I am seeing is that the surface resulting is only that with
a hyperbolic figure of the index of refraction of the glass at
the color tested at. Useful designs of a R-C scope need to have
an e value of around [4 or so for a usable scope and this test is
limited to about -1.8 or so, which is a long way away from what
is needed. IIRC, a classical scope is the one with e values of
what the test produces.
