It will not affect the image much compared to not
having a scope. Yes you can know. That way to know
is finish it.
Scopes optomised for planets or deep sky usually are
different. That is because planets are tiny and
bright and need more magnification than many deep sky
objects that can be as big as the moon but are very
dim so need large apature. That is not to say that
deep sky objects are all big. But they are all dim.
General rule is that the large the apature the better
for seeing detail in anything. There are limits and
they have been discussed on this list and others many
times so go look in the archives.
