I think this is asking for trouble. Plain wood keeps changing shape over
time, you can even things out with muliple layers bending in opposite
direction, but never entirely. It seems to me that you need zero warping for
a polishing tool...
Better to use something amorphous/anisotropic such as MDF or particleboard.
Even then you need to seal thoroughly because these tend to expand with
moisture.
Better yet to use plaster. You can get that in Sweden, don't you? Even the
normal plaster (of paris) will hold up for quite a while, especially when
you seal it with Richards' Secret Sealer Sauce. Building markets also sell
casting or modelling plaster, which is much harder. This is what I've use so
far, with no problems.
